Current Open Jam Listing for Southern and Central Minnesota
Area 52 - Northeast Minneapolis. I've never been to this one but I've talked to people who have so I can assure you it is real. According to their website, Area 52 is a musicians cooperative that has an open jam every Friday night. There is never a cover and nothing is for sale. The link above takes you to their MySpace page which has a link address to another site with a link to a forum.

Jerk Jam - This has been a fairly regular Twin Cities area open jam though they are apparently taking a sabbatical. Check out the link for the latest on this jam. NEWSFLASH!!! THE Jerk Jam continues Thursday Dec. 11th at the Blue Fox in Arden Hills.

The following I copied this from an email from Mark Boys. This is a list for open jams in southern MN somewhere to the west of Rochester. The addresses are at the bottom if your interested. I received no info on styles of music or on how these jams are organized etc... What you see here is all I know. There is a phone number at the bottom for more info.
